How is Rubber Flooring Installed, and Does It Detach Over Time?

03 The application surface is first thoroughly cleaned of all dust, debris, and imperfections. Next, a special dual-component polyurethane rubber adhesive is applied homogeneously to the surface, followed by the installation of the rubber material (roll, tile, or poured-in-place). Chemical curing (complete bonding to the subfloor) takes approximately 8 hours. Once cured, it is physically almost impossible for the rubber flooring to detach or lift from the subfloor.

What Are the Essential Requirements for Rubber Flooring Installation?

04 The most critical requirement for application is that the subfloor must be dry and smooth. Weather conditions and subfloor moisture levels are meticulously checked prior to application; installation is strictly avoided on damp or wet surfaces.

Can Rubber Flooring Be Applied to Any Surface?

05 For rubber flooring to deliver long-lasting and flawless performance, the subfloor must be concrete (or asphalt). A smooth and durable concrete subfloor directly extends the service life of the rubber coating.

Can Rubber Flooring Be Installed Over Soil Surfaces?

06 Standard and professional installation procedures strictly require a concrete subfloor. However, under mandatory circumstances, movable interlocking rubber tiles can be laid loosely over soil surfaces. Because ground movements can cause these tiles to shift and displace over time, this is not evaluated as a guaranteed application.

Can Rubber Flooring Be Applied to Sloped and Textured Concrete Surfaces?

07 On sloped areas, installation can safely proceed provided that the concrete is durable and smooth. On textured or uneven surfaces, modular products such as tiles, hexagons, or puzzle blocks will not yield a smooth finish. In such scenarios, applying a poured-in-place (wet-pour) rubber system ensures a much healthier, aesthetic, and flawless surface.

Can I Install the Rubber Flooring Myself?

08 If you possess technical knowledge and hands-on experience in flooring installation, or have specialists within your organization, yes, you can carry out the installation with your own team. However, for corporate projects, professional support is recommended for maximum performance.

Can It Be Installed Indoors? Is It Suitable for Gyms?

11 Rubber flooring can be safely installed indoors; the only requirement is that the space must have adequate ventilation during and after the application. It is especially preferred in gyms and fitness centers. Thanks to its impact-absorbing properties, it minimizes impact loads and joint pain in the lower legs during workouts, enhancing the athlete’s comfort and training duration.

Can Glue-Free Installation Be Performed in Gyms?

12 For indoor gym projects, depending on client requests and the physical condition of the subfloor, glue-free (removable/modular) installations can also be carried out.

Does Rubber Flooring Have Soundproofing Properties?

13 Proven by laboratory tests, the porous, flexible, and granular structure of rubber provides exceptional impact and sound insulation (acoustic absorption) performance. It absorbs high-decibel impact sounds and noise, preventing them from transmitting to lower floors.

What is Rubber? What Are Its Types?

14 Rubber is categorized into two types based on its source and production technology:

  1. Natural Rubber: Derived from the sap (latex) of the rubber tree.

  2. Synthetic Rubber: Manufactured through the processing of various petrochemical components. At Suha Sport, we process high-durability EPDM and recycled SBR granules to industrial standards.

Are There Maintenance Costs After Rubber Flooring Installation?

15 There are no recurring or extra chemical maintenance costs. Thanks to superior material quality, it offers maintenance-free use for many years.

How Can I Clean Rubber Flooring?

Do Children’s Playground Rubber Surfaces Harbor Microbes and Bacteria?

19 The primary reason rubber flooring is preferred in children’s playgrounds is its hygienic structure that does not harbor bacteria and microbes. It allows children to play safely outdoors in rain and mud without getting dirty. Traditional sand or soil surfaces, on the other hand, turn into breeding grounds for microbes due to animal waste and outdoor elements, with no effective disinfection solution available. Accordingly, rubber surfaces are incomparably healthier and more hygienic than alternative surfaces.

Is It an Eco-Friendly Product? Are Recycled Materials Used?

20 It is an eco-friendly green technology product made from 100% recycled materials. It is produced by processing end-of-life vehicle tires in specialized facilities to remove steel, iron, and textile impurities, followed by precision shredding.

What is the Average Lifespan of Rubber Flooring?

21 Depending on usage conditions, traffic density, and proper maintenance, the average economic lifespan of our rubber flooring ranges between 15 and 20 years.
