Water-Based Waterproof Coating

AQUA GUARD POLYMER 600

Next-Generation 600% Elastic, Aliphatic, Water-Based Liquid Applied Waterproofing Membrane

Water-Based Waterproof Coating

DESCRIPTION

AQUA GUARD POLYMER 600 is a cutting-edge, single-component, water-based, aliphatic liquid applied waterproofing membrane produced with advanced polymer technology. It cures by drying to form a tough yet highly elastic film, delivering an impressive 600% elongation capacity. Completely solvent-free and supplied in a viscous liquid form, it is engineered for application on dry and slightly damp surfaces. Formulated through a specialized polymerization technique, AQUA GUARD POLYMER 600 dispersion offers exceptional UV resistance.

KEY FEATURES & ADVANTAGES

  • Superior Adhesion: Exceptional bonding strength to various structural substrates.

  • High Elasticity (%600): Crack-bridging capability; will not tear, crack, blister, or peel off over time.

  • Ready to Use: Single-component formulation, supplied ready for application without thinning.

  • Chemical & Corrosion Resistance: High defensive resistance against corrosion, chemicals, acids, petroleum products, grease, and salt water.

  • UV Stability: Completely unaffected by ultraviolet radiation, ensuring long-lasting outdoor performance.

  • Moisture Barrier: Seals surface pores effectively to prevent rising damp and negative moisture intrusion.

  • Biological Resistance: Highly resistant to fungi, bacteria, and aggressive environmental elements.

  • Mechanical Strength: High impact and abrasion resistance with an aesthetic glossy finish.

RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS

  • Terrace roofs and balconies

  • Foundation waterproofing and structural retaining walls, including membrane lap joint repairs

  • Metal and wooden roofing systems

  • Rehabilitation and overcoating of old, problematic bituminous waterproofing systems

  • Asphalt and concrete floors

  • Wet areas under ceramic tiles (bathrooms, WCs, showers, kitchens)

  • Waterproofing layer for precast concrete, painted/galvanized metal sheets, and GRP roof gutters

  • Exterior facades

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS & CONSUMPTION

  • Standard Concrete Substrate Requirements:

    • Compressive Strength: R28 $\ge$ 15 MPa

    • Moisture Content: W < %10

    • Application Temperature: +5°C to +35°C

    • Relative Humidity: < %85

Consumption Rates:

  • By Roller or Brush (Minimum Total: 1.2 – 1.5 kg/m²):

    • 1st Coat: 0.6 – 0.8 kg/m²

    • 2nd Coat: 0.6 – 0.8 kg/m²

  • By Airless Spray (Minimum Total: 1.0 – 1.2 kg/m²):

    • 1st Coat: 0.5 – 0.6 kg/m²

    • 2nd Coat: 0.5 – 0.6 kg/m²

SURFACE PREPARATION & APPLICATION

  1. Substrate Preparation: Application surfaces must be dry or slightly damp, clean, sound, load-bearing, and free from loose particles. Remove all bond-inhibiting residues such as oil, grease, dirt, paint, cement lautance, rust, formwork oil, and efflorescence.

  2. Detailing: Form 45° chamfers (coves) at horizontal and vertical interior corners. Prime high-absorbency surfaces like concrete prior to main application.

  3. Application Process: AQUA GUARD POLYMER 600 is single-component and ready to use. Mix thoroughly with a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Apply using a brush, roller, or airless spray equipment. Non-woven geotextile reinforcement or mesh can be embedded into the wet first coat if required.

  4. Recoating: Apply the second coat perpendicular (cross-layer fashion) to the first coat once it has dried (typically 2–4 hours depending on ambient temperatures).

PACKAGING & STORAGE

  • Packaging: 18 kg plastic pails

  • Shelf Life: Minimum 12 months from production date when stored in dry, unopened, original packaging at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C. Protect from frost and direct sunlight. Reseal opened containers tightly and consume as quickly as possible.

HEALTH & SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • Do not apply on wet, frozen, or thawing substrates.

  • Avoid application during expected precipitation or rainy weather conditions.

  • Do not apply at extreme temperatures below +10°C or above +35°C. Never add water or dry powder to frozen or spoiled material.

  • Ensure adequate ventilation in enclosed working spaces and keep away from open flames and high heat sources.

  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid contact with skin, eyes, and mouth
